Plain archive

Checked on 2026-10-25: the official sitemap lists completed issues 1 through 7, including #7 (24 October). At that check Plain #8 was the live New York puzzle. This index is a dated snapshot, not live tracking. We link to the official answers and add limited original commentary, not a full answer-list mirror. The sitemap check is npm run update:archive; publishing another recap requires editorial review.

The official hub lists the seven categories; its per-issue pages expand the answers. Each of our recaps provides a category overview and three selected explanations. Past puzzles cannot be replayed for a score.

What 'today' means

Issue number, as a working rule and not an official API, is the number of New York midnights since 18 October 2026, plus one. That maps #1 to 18 October and #6 to 23 October, which matches the archive. If the developer skips a day, the sitemap wins and this formula gets corrected on the updates page.

Questions this page answers

Why is today's puzzle missing?

At the 2026-10-25 check, Plain #8 (Sunday, October 25, 2026) was the live New York day. This is a dated snapshot. We add recaps only after the official archive publishes a finished day.

Do these pages replace the official archive?

No. Each recap links to playplain.app/archive/N. We add the ratio comment and the unit trap. We do not host a replay.
