Editorial policy
This is how the editors of PlayPlain.net decide what to publish. The contact address is [email protected]. A correction is a normal part of the job, not a favor.
One page, one question
Each URL answers one search. The rules page does not also try to be the app page. The archive index does not hide today's answers. We would rather omit a fact than merge two topics to make a URL look longer.
What counts as a source
- An official playplain.app page, header, sitemap, or manifest, fetched on a named date.
- A calculation we can repeat from a formula that page states.
- A primary page for a different project (Apple Music, a design magazine, a store listing) when the page is about names, not about the game's rules.
- RDAP for a domain date.
A clone site is not a source for the official rules. A directory that mislabels a clone is not a source. A number we cannot find is left out.
Voice
When a page says “I”, it is the editor who checked that page, describing the check. It is not a claim that we hold a high score, and it is not a quote from the developer. We do not publish a star rating for the game.
Freshness
A daily recap goes up only after the official archive lists that issue. The home page may name the live issue number and must not print its answers. The modified time on each page is the date of the last edit. The sitemap uses the same date. Today's check date for the whole guide is 2026-10-25.
Fixes
Email the URL and the source. We change the sentence, bump the modified time, and add a line to the updates page when the change would mislead someone who read the old version. Typos that do not change a number may be fixed without a log line.
